Biography
Morgan Fox graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a BA in Theatre. After working as a stagehand and carpenter in NYC for almost ten years, she attended the Ohio State University for her MFA in Creative Writing, which she received in 2021. She is currently pursuing the dual degree MA in Russian, East Europe, Eurasian Studies and MSLIS (Library Science), with a Translation Minor. She has received FLAS fellowships in Russian, Latvian, Kazakh, and Turkish; she works at the UIUC Main Library as a foreign language cataloguer, and also indexes for ABSEEES. Her paper "Green Death, Red Death: The Paradoxical Nature of Cremation in Early Soviet Ideology" was presented at Midwest Slavic in April 2022. In theory she is also editing her thesis novel, which is loosely based on the history of the Sputnik launch (the satellite, not the vaccine). Outside of academia she is an amateur photographer, aerialist-in-training, cat mom, and general blue-haired weirdo.
